Project Title: AUSTRALIAN PAVILION INSTALLATION

The design of the Australian Pavilion atrium installation is based upon Australia’s distinctive floral emblem, the wattle.

The realisation is expressed by the creation of eight ten metre sensuously draped suspended metal forms, their varied shapes derived from abstracted wattle seed pods.

Within each pod are internally lit resin flowers, each referring to a state or territory’s floral emblem.

The pods are experienced by visitors from the ground floor level, where they have the opportunity to gaze up into the centre of the pods, revealing the glowing floral displays within.
