About

Bowden Urban Village is a new high density Transport Oriented Development by the State Government’s SA Renewal (formally Land Management Corporation). It is the first of its kind and has become a benchmark for the state.

As lead consultants, TCL has developed an integrated and innovative public realm through working closely with engineers and the client group. This new urban village demonstrates a best practice ‘shared street’ environment where streets are designed to achieve low speeds that are safe for all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. Streets are abundant in vegetation and exemplify WSUD techniques and also encourage social activity and strengthen the community experience of the precinct.

A network of public open spaces throughout the development is designed to link people and places and accommodate the higher density of social activity within Bowden. The designs for the public realm are inspired by the history of the precinct and build upon its community spirit and industrial past.

TCL acknowledges all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people — the traditional custodians of the land on which we work. We respect their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
