Walking the Mangroves with Chris Bassi

On Friday, June 13, we met with Kevin Taylor Legacy recipient Chris Bassi and ecologists from the University of Queensland’s School of Environment.

On the banks of Maiwar (the Brisbane River), we yarned, shared stories, sketched, and reflected.

Mangroves are not only powerful agents of carbon capture, they also hold deep-time memories, offer insights into the future, and remind us of our shared responsibility to Care for Country.

It was a thought-provoking day exploring the intersection of art, science, and design.
We’re grateful for the generosity and enthusiasm shown by the UQ team, and we look forward to seeing the KT Legacy work continue to unfold.
